After we bring an old window back to the shop, it's not unusual for the lead matrix to start to fall apart. Once it's out of the wood sash most of the support is gone.

Over years the lead breaks down and the window may start to bow. We have had many people ask if the window was made with the bow in it.

We slowly cut the window apart and keep the pieces in order. After a warm bath and a lot of cleaning the pieces are placed on the cartoon.
